WOOL STREET – Rua Alexandre Herculano

Self-taught multidisciplinary artist, lyricist and storyteller, multi-instrumentalist and irrepressible showman. A creator with a range of proposals that oscillate between writing, video, sound and composition for the most varied media, with a focus on music (especially violin, voice and piano) and the many performing arts, from theatre to dance.

Founder of two publishing houses and a promoter, Dionísio multiplies himself in the many colours and landscapes of the various companies, groups, bands and projects he has been producing incessantly for almost a decade now. With regular shows in Portugal and abroad, his projects include Criatura (dedicated to new traditional Portuguese music, deeply involved with Cante Alentejano de Serpa), Pás de Problème and his work with artists such as actor Miguel Borges, director João Garcia Miguel and choreographer Clara Andermatt. At the same time, there have been several collaborations with different musicians, within the scope of what is known as Improvised Music.

Off-stage there is also a vast body of image, video and editing work, and a panoply of lyrics and texts, with a special emphasis on writing short stories. In recent years he has been developing various techniques and approaches to creating, structuring and thinking about the stage, the arts and teaching. He is also a trainer and teacher, dedicated to non-formal education, with a special focus on children and teenagers. In 2021 he released the albums Tripa, Contos e Lenga Lendas and Sons de Embalar para Tempos de Guerra.
