Beatriz Pereira, born and raised in Ourém, is the patron saint of the act of “escreviver. On a precipice between Beatriz and Maria, her pen comes to unravel a diary of colours, textures and discomforts. She summons melodies from fado, pop, bossa nova and popular song to condense them into a sound that is as earthy as it is dreamy. Since 2019, the project has performed more than 50 concerts, having played festivals such as NOS Alive, Festival Para Gente Sentada, Festival dos Canais, FOLIO, Rádio Faneca and Bons Sons. She has also taken part in projects such as A Música Portuguesa a Gostar dela Própria or Porta253 and published the song Dissabor in the collection Novos Talentos FNAC 2019.
For the presentation of her latest work – “Qualquer um pode cantar” – at WOOL, we challenged her to work with the recently created Coro Viés – Vozes em Intervenção, an initiative of Coolabora.
