COMMUNITY LUNCH
29 JUNE _ Sunday
12am
Covilhã Public Garden
Registration free, limited to 40 people, but mandatory, via email info@woolfest.org
Food and a shared meal are much more than a biological necessity. They play a fundamental role in promoting human encounters and coexistence and, since ancient times, meals have been moments of union, celebration and sharing, not just of food, but also of experiences, stories and affection. There are many great moments in our lives spent around a table at a meal.
It’s a little of this spirit that we want to promote through the WOOL community lunch, with the aim of strengthening bonds, feeding souls (contributing to well-being and social harmony) and, of course, celebrating the culture of so many people from different geographical areas who live in Covilhã’s historic centre.
To this end, we will have a “social artisan” with us to guide the manufacture of this collaborative rice. He will be our cook, our cultural animator and our mediator. To share this meal, everyone will have to contribute a food item (mushrooms, carrots, garlic, onions, peppers, leeks, spinach, spices, liqueurs, etc.) to include in the rice, except meat and fish, or bring food to share with the rest of the community. You can also contribute a story, a poem or a song.
Take part and contribute to the community lunch table (except for drinks). Rice is on us!
