Urban art is born free, breathes between cement and asphalt, and dies under the hands of progress. “Efémero mural” is an installation that celebrates and questions the fleetingness of urban art, exploring the duality between its transitory beauty and the violence of economic growth. Through fragments of destroyed murals, projections of vanished works, the piece materializes the mourning and resilience of art that endures – until it no longer does.

The opposite of the “natural” ephemeral is the imposed ephemeral – when art doesn’t die following its organic cycle, but because of an economic decision. Here, the word gains irony: it’s not fleeting, it’s erased.

The installation offers the public the opportunity to actively participate in the destruction of a mural, but also in its reconstruction, thus seeking to commemorate it and keep its memory alive.
