Audience: professionals and students in the fields of the arts, social sciences, and humanities, particularly in education and health, as well as policymakers and local government officials, among others.

After introducing a program block in 2024 focused on reflections on art and culture, contextualizing them within the reality of our WOOL and region, in this edition of WOOL 2026 we return to this goal of fostering reflection and the sharing of knowledge and experiences through this capacity-building initiative.
“PRÁTICAS ARTÍSTICAS E PARTICIPAÇÃO” with Hugo Cruz
This workshop aims to provide a critical introduction to the topic of participatory and community-based artistic practices. It will draw on experiences and research conducted in recent years to discuss the fundamental elements of these practices, as well as their strengths and weaknesses and their connection to civic and political participation. The workshop also includes a brief overview of: the concepts of culture and participation; the historical development of participatory and community-based artistic practices; and the quality of cultural and artistic participation.
Methodology:
Active and expository method using images, diagrams, and summaries.
Viewing of videos and theatrical games.
