Talk 2 – “Before – after: public art and contextualisation”
27 JUNE _ Friday
4pm > 5pm
CIEC – Centro de Inovação Empresarial da Covilhã _ Rua António Angusto Aguiar, 60
Olivier Landes, a graduate in geography and urban planning, is the artistic director of the Art en Ville association, through which he has designed numerous projects, including the Aubervilliers In Situ Art Festival (2014) and the 2016 and 2020 editions of Rouen Impressionnée, as part of the Normandie Impressionniste festival
His dual artistic and urban experience makes him a special player in the world of contemporary urban art, adopting a contextualized approach. His aim is to make works of art blend into their environment, in a reciprocal and respectful relationship between the site and the work of art.
He is the author of two volumes of Street Art Contexte(s), published by Alternatives/Gallimard (2017 and 2021) and co-author of Guide du street art en France, published by the same publisher in 2019.
He is a professor at the University of Paris I La Sorbonne and a regular speaker at colloquia, conferences and professional meetings on urban art. He completed the Cycle des Hautes Etudes de la Culture (CHEC-promotion 2023-24) and is an auditor at the École du Louvre (2024-25).
