Covilhã, 1977. From a very young age, he showed an interest in the creative arts. As a child, he drew constantly, built Lego structures and used his father’s camera to capture landscapes and other subjects that caught his eye.

At secondary school, he studied Art and Design, later going on to study architecture. He graduated from the Lusíada University of Lisbon and spent his final year of study under the Erasmus Programme at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Florence (Florence, Italy).

Photography accompanied him throughout his academic career, focusing on documenting the urban landscape and its transformations, with a particular emphasis on the processes of abandonment and degradation of architectural spaces and on artistic expressions in public spaces, such as graffiti and street art.

After completing his degree, he returned to Florence to work in the studio of architect Leopoldo Vezzoni, his former professor. He also worked for a short period at the AZARQ studio in Barcelona before returning to Portugal to begin his professional career as an architect.

Between 2010 and 2011, with the aim of furthering his knowledge of photography, he took part in the Kmaster masterclass, organised by the Kameraphoto collective of photographers, which culminated in the group exhibition “Resultado Final”, held at Fábrica Braço de Prata between July and August 2011.

In 2018, he took part in the masterclass “Viagens na Minha Terra”, part of the Y#14 Festival and led by photographers Augusto Brázio and Nelson d’Aires. This training resulted in the photographic projects “Panasqueira” and “Nota de Santo António”, which featured a soundscape by music producer Defski.

His work has been published in various books and magazines, and he has been recognised in several photography competitions. Among these, he won first place in the “Diamantino Gonçalves Photography Prize”, established in 2024 in memory of one of the leading figures in Beira Baixa photography.

He is a co-founder of “WOOL – Covilhã Arte Urbana”, having been the photographer responsible for the documentary record of the festival over several editions.

He carries out his professional work at “A Tentadora – cowork, shop & gallery”, of which he is a co-founder.
