Portugal’s oldest urban art festival returns to Covilhã between June 11th and 21st to celebrate 15 years of activity. The 13th edition of WOOL takes public space as a stage for creation and a laboratory for experimentation and learning, where the most diverse artistic languages intersect to stimulate reflection and encourage intercultural dialogue.

In WOOL’s 15 years, the founding objectives remain: a multidisciplinary program, intense creation and occupation of public space, aiming to continue to establish itself as an example of transformation of the territory and the community through Art and Culture, continuing its mission of cultural decentralization, inclusion and social and territorial cohesion, while also honoring a territory through its people and collective memory.

At the heart of the 13th edition’s program is the community at the center of WOOL’s collective construction, transversal to the different programmatic blocks that make up the various novelties of this celebration and that affirm WOOL as a collective artistic project and manifesto.

We believe that Art and Culture are the first line of democratic defense and the source of the community spirit, imagination, and resilience that our societies need. That our community needs. When we come together around a common construct that allows us to (re)discover ourselves, to grow closer, and to imagine shared spaces, we can dream of new futures, true territories of hope, more inclusive, more cohesive, more sustainable, and filled with more love.
